Ottawa Public Health has issued a heat warning for Saturday and Sunday because the humidex will make it feel like we’re in the 40s.
Extreme heat can cause dehydration, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and even death.
Ottawa Public Health is encouraging people to check on their family, friends and neighbours who may be vulnerable to the heat.
To avoid heat-related illnesses, you should drink plenty of fluids, avoid strenous physical activity outdoors and spend at least two hours a day in an air-conditioned location.
A heat alert has also been issued in the valley.
